Dr. Tom Hedman joined the Center as an Associate Research Professor. Dr. Hedman received his doctorate from the University of Strathclyde (Scotland) and has held faculty appointments at the University of Southern California and Texas A&M University. His research involves chemical modification of the extracellular matrix of collagenous connective tissues to achieve improvements in mechanical properties. Dr. Hedman is active in translational research and technology commercialization and has founded Orthopeutics, L.P. and several other small medical technology companies.
