Biomaterials and Tissue engineering

This area focuses on the development of novel biomaterials and surface modification strategies for controlling cellular events at the bone-implant interface.

Biomechanics

This area focuses on the application of mechanical engineering principles to biofluids and soft and hard tissues.

Cardiovascular, Respiratory, and Neural Control

This program combines experimentation and computational modeling of cardiorespiratory interactions, cardiac rhythm dynamics, and neural control of sleep.
