Success Stories
In addition to filling positions in academia, UK biomedical engineering graduates
fill a need in the fast-growing biomedical devices industries and in governmental
research and regulatory agencies. Graduates from our program have been employed
by major manufacturers of orthopedic implants, cardiac implantable devices,
magnetic resonance imaging systems, drug delivery devices as well as by smaller
start-up companies focused on control systems. As an example, a partial list

In large part because of their quality training, many of our students
receive job offers before defending their theses and dissertations. Some
have risen to leadership positions, such as Manager of Business Development
and Manger of Biostatistics. At least one of our graduates co-founded his
own company, customKYnetics, Inc.
Other graduates have chosen to accept faculty positions at institutions
including the University of Alabama at Birmingham, University of California
at San Francisco, University of Kentucky, Sharif University of Technology
(Iran), Western Kentucky University, and Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico).
